Salted Honey Cinnamon Latte
Prep time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1
Serves: 1
Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- 1–2 tsp Steens MGO 85+ Raw Mānuka Honey, depending on desired sweetness
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- Small pinch of sea salt or flaky salt
- 4–6 oz milk of choice, such as dairy, oat or almond milk
- Small splash of cool water
- Ice, optional
- Extra cinnamon, to finish
Method

- Add the MGO 85+ Raw Mānuka Honey to a glass with a small splash of cool water and stir to combine. Adding cool water before the hot espresso helps protect the honey’s naturally occurring properties from direct heat.

- Brew two shots of espresso and pour into the glass. Add the cinnamon and a small pinch of sea salt, then stir until everything is well combined.

- For an iced latte, fill the glass with ice. For a warm latte, simply skip this step.

- Pour 4–6 oz of your favorite milk into the glass, over the ice.
- Finish with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy.
No Espresso Machine? No Problem
You can still make this Salted Honey Cinnamon Latte without an espresso machine. Swap the two espresso shots for 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee, or dissolve 2 teaspoons of instant coffee in approximately 2 oz of warm water.
Why Add Salt to a Honey Latte?
It might sound unexpected, but a tiny pinch of salt helps balance the sweetness of the honey while bringing out the deeper flavors of the espresso and cinnamon. You only need a small amount — the goal isn't to make your coffee taste salty, but to create a more balanced flavor.
Why Sweeten Coffee With Mānuka Honey?
Mānuka Honey is an easy alternative to refined sugar and flavored syrups when you want to naturally sweeten your morning coffee.
For this recipe, we use Steens MGO 85+ Raw Mānuka Honey. As one of our Table strengths, it's made for everyday moments like coffee, breakfast, baking and cooking. Its naturally rich flavor pairs especially well with espresso and warming cinnamon.
Steens Mānuka Honey is raw and unpasteurized, so when you're using it with hot drinks, we recommend mixing the honey with a little cool water before adding your freshly brewed coffee.
Make It Your Way
Prefer it sweeter? Add the full two teaspoons of Mānuka Honey. Love cinnamon? Add an extra dusting on top. And if you're firmly in the iced-coffee-all-year-round camp, load up your glass with ice before pouring everything together.
Simple, cozy and naturally sweetened, this Salted Honey Cinnamon Latte might just become your new morning coffee order — without having to leave the house.
