Manuka honey isn't just your ordinary sweet treat. It is also renowned for its exceptional antibacterial qualities that have been found to work wonders for your oral health.

Incorporating Manuka honey into your daily oral care routine is an effective way to tap into its antibacterial qualities. Whether you choose to consume it directly, use it as a mouthwash, or apply it topically, this golden elixir's antibacterial properties can transform your oral health. It's like having a natural bodyguard for your mouth, working tirelessly to keep it fresh, clean, and free from bacterial trouble.

The Research

If you visit the dentist, you will be recommended a mouthwash to help with removing bacteria and plaque from your mouth.

This study came to light after scientists became interested in finding a natural alternative to help remove the bacteria, without the risks of the common chemical based mouthwash. You can read more about the disadvantages of mouthwash here.

"Sixty healthy male dental students aged between 21 and 25 years participated in the study. All the subjects received a professional prophylaxis at the start of the study, with the purpose of making the dentition 100% free of plaque and calculus. The subjects were then randomly divided into three groups, i.e. the Manuka honey group, the chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash group and the xylitol chewing gum group. Rinsing with water or any other fluid after the procedure was not allowed as also any form of mechanical oral hygiene for all the subjects during the experimental period of 72 h."

The results for this study speak for themselves showing that Manuka Honey significantly reduced the amount of bacteria in your mouth and is just as beneficial as a mouthwash that a dentist would recommend you, but without all the additives.

Best thing I did was order from Steens.
I use it and my dog trainer uses it as well.
Not sure he uses it personally but gives it to my dog everyday she is with him.
